Located in Claverty Cottage, a remote settlement near Portland Gap in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, this family-run farm has been cultivated by the same family for three generations. Sitting at approximately 1,370 meters above sea level and just five miles from the island’s highest peak, the farm benefits from a cool, mist-covered microclimate that creates ideal conditions for growing exceptional coffee. The steep, rugged terrain and limited population of the area contribute to the distinctiveness and purity of the environment in which this coffee is grown.
Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee must come from a specific region in the eastern parishes of Portland, St. Andrew, St. Mary, or St. Thomas. This designated area covers only about 15,000 acres, making it one of the smallest coffee-producing regions in the world. With approximately 85% of its limited harvest exported primarily to Japan, this coffee remains a rare and sought-after offering on the global market.
